Dreamcoins are the in-site currency. On a paid plan, chatting on the standard models is free; images, video, voice calls, premium narration, thinking models and community packs are paid in coins. Premium adds 1,000 to your balance every month, Deluxe 5,000.
Our account started October with 1,036 coins. On 20 October we spent 60 on six image runs, 5 on a new character and 100 on a five-second video: 165 coins in total, while 280 chat messages and a read-aloud cost nothing. Those real charges sit next to the official figures below.
The short answer
- Chat on standard models: 0 coins for subscribers, 1 coin per message for free users
- Images: 10 coins per 2; in-chat images 5 each
- Video: 100 coins per 5 seconds, up to 1,200 for 60 s

The full price list
This table merges the help center's cost guide (edited 2 March 2026) with what our balance did on 20 October 2026. Where the two differ, both numbers are shown.
| Action | Help center | Our account |
|---|---|---|
| Chat, standard models (subscriber) | 0 | 0 (280 messages) |
| Chat, free account | 1 per message | Not tested |
| Thinking models (Genius family) | 1 per reply | 1 coin label shown |
| Standard image generation | 10 per 2 images | 10 per 2 (six times) |
| In-chat image | 5 per image | Not tested |
| Auto image generation | 5 per image | Not tested |
| Enhance an image | 10 | Not tested |
| Edit an image (Spark / Eclipse) | 10 / 20 | Not tested |
| Video, standard | 100 per 5 s, max 1,200 | 100 for 5 s |
| Video, ultra quality | 200 per video | Not tested |
| Enhance a video | 50 per 5 s | Not tested |
| Extend a video by 5 s | +50% of original cost | Not tested |
| Audio on video | 20 per second | Not tested |
| Narration, select voices | 0 | 0 (default voice) |
| Narration, premium voices | 5 per paragraph | Not tested |
| Voice call | 50 per minute | Not tested |
| Create a character | 10 | 5 |
| Community pack | 250, 750 or 1,000 | Not bought |
Character creation is the one clear gap: the help center says 10 coins with the first two images included, our run cost 5. The Voice tab in chat also prices Ultra voices at 1 coin per 1,000 characters, a different unit from the help center's per-paragraph figure.
How many coins each plan gives
| Plan | Coins on day one | Then each month |
|---|---|---|
| Premium monthly | 1,000 | 1,000 |
| Premium yearly | 2,000 | 1,000 |
| Deluxe monthly | Not stated | 5,000 |
| Deluxe yearly | Not stated | 5,000 |
Coins land on the renewal date at 2pm EST. The cost guide says they do not refresh, meaning unspent coins are not wiped at renewal. The help center does say they stop being usable for most things once your plan ends, so a big stockpile is not a great idea. Plug your own habits into the calculator below to see where a month of coins goes.

Buying more: price per 1,000
Packs are sold only to subscribers. The bigger the pack, the cheaper each thousand:
| Pack | Price | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | 11.99 EUR | 11.99 EUR |
| 5,000 | 47.99 EUR | 9.60 EUR |
| 20,000 | 151.99 EUR | 7.60 EUR |
Paid in crypto, the 5,000 pack showed as 49.99 USD. For comparison, Premium's 1,000 monthly coins come bundled with unlimited chat for 18.99 EUR; if you regularly top up with 5,000-coin packs, Deluxe deserves a look on the pricing page. Candy AI sells tokens on a different scale entirely (100 tokens for 9.99 at the low end), which the Candy AI matchup puts next to Dreamcoins.
Two monthly budgets with Premium's 1,000 coins
The picture lover. Forty image runs (80 images) take 400 coins. Add two new characters at the 5 we were charged (10), three five-second clips (300) and a hundred replies on a thinking model (100). Total 810, leaving 190 spare for retries.
The video fan. Ten five-second clips at 100 each use the whole 1,000. So does a single 50-second video. Add audio at 20 coins a second and a clip gets expensive fast: five seconds of sound alone is another 100. Video users run out first, and that is where packs or Deluxe come in. Before your first clip, the video tool walkthrough shows what each option adds to the bill.
Voice calls are the other quick drain. At 50 coins a minute, 1,000 coins equals 20 minutes on the phone with a character.
What does not cost coins
- Chatting on Balanced, Tester, Muse or Eclipse as a subscriber.
- Read aloud with the default voice (our balance did not move).
- The Bring Your AI To Life step after creating a character, on our run.
- Browsing Explore, the Feed and character pages.
- Failed generations: the help center says coins come back automatically within a few minutes.
The model picker marks the paid thinking models with their coin price, so an accidental switch is easy to spot. None of this list applies to an account without a plan, where every message costs a coin; the limits of a free account are set out separately.
Keeping track
The Subscription page has a Coin History link that lists every debit. Open it after anything expensive, especially a video, so a charge without a matching file does not go unnoticed.
If a refund for a failed generation does not show after 15 minutes, the help center suggests refreshing, logging out and in, then contacting support with the time of the failure. Check your balance on OurDream.
FAQ
How much is one Dream coin worth?
Between about 0.76 and 1.20 euro cents, depending on the pack: 1,000 coins cost 11.99 EUR, 20,000 cost 151.99 EUR.
Do Dream coins expire?
The help center says coins do not expire, but without an active plan you lose access to most of what they buy and cannot purchase more. Its cancellation article also says unused coins are not restored if you resubscribe.
Which chats take coins from my balance?
Two kinds: each reply from a thinking model (1 coin) and each message sent from an account with no plan (also 1 coin). A subscriber talking on the standard models pays nothing.
How many images do 1,000 coins buy?
200 images from the generator, at 10 coins per pair, or 200 in-chat images at 5 each.
What happens if a generation fails?
The help center says the coins are refunded automatically, usually within a few minutes. Contact support if they are not back after 15 minutes.
